I’m all about those sweet moments and personal touches at weddings. From the earrings designed by Andrea’s friend Samantha Wills to Andrea & Patrick practicing their first dance during their portrait session to the shawls from Kenya used to keep guests warm at the end of the night, Andrea and Patrick’s day was filled with them! All perfectly designed and executed by one of my favorites, Nicole Alexandra Weddings.
After officially saying “I do” at American Martyr’s Church in Manhattan Beach, everyone headed over to Catalina View Gardens, a hidden gem, perched atop Palos Verdes with a stunning overlook of a vineyard and sun-drenched bluffs. Andrea & Patrick entered the gorgeous party to the smell of lavender being thrown around them and dumped on their heads as they ran through an aisle created by their friends and family.
Toasts were the entertainment of the night. Andrea’s dad led them off with a welcome toast where he drank a beer that he’d been saving for the occasion. It was a customized bottle that he had made for Andrea’s birth with a label that read “It’s a girl!”
Her brothers then took over and had Andrea & Patrick sit back to back for a little test where they had to hold up a shoe to answer questions and indicate their answer. Silly questions were asked like “who is a better driver?” and they both instinctively held up Patrick’s shoe. The game ended on a sweet note with “Who is more excited to be married?” and they both held up their own shoe.
After dinner, Vox DJs had everyone up dancing for the rest of the night!! From swing to hip hop break dancing, no one left the dance floor. The night came to an end as “I’ve Had the Time of My Life” played and Andrea & Patrick acted out the famous scene from Dirty Dancing.
