LET'S AUTHENTICALLY RECORD THIS TIME IN YOUR LIVES
Engagement sessions are so fun because they're generally the first big pay off you get from all the hard work you're doing to plan your wedding! I know they can also be anxiety-inducing. What should we wear? Where should we go? How does this all work?
I'm here to guide you through the process and help make the session as natural as possible. Because let's be real, getting your photo taken is out of the normal for most.
We'll start with a planning session, so I can understand what vibe would best show off your relationship. These photos truly get more valuable with time and it's magical to pause this momentous period of your lives together.
The session is meant to be fluid with y'all in your element so we can preserve the dynamic of your relationship with the images and you can look back decades from now on those fresh, giddy, in love versions of yourselves.

Jodee is the absolute best!! She and her incredible team shot our wedding and rehearsal dinner in LA. She also flew to NYC for our engagement shoot - truly above and beyond!! I had found Jodee scouring wedding websites right after my husband and I got engaged. As most newly engaged couples might agree - beginning the planning, hiring and booking process for the big day is no small task. There are so many amazing vendors out there, beautifully designed websites with eye-catching wedding inspo - it can all feel extremely overwhelming. I reached out to Jodee through her homepage, we exchanged emails and scheduled an introductory phone call. From that initial call I knew I had met someone truly spectacular. She was friendly, professional, well-spoken, informative, not pushy and really just a lovely person to communicate with. We booked Jodee within the week and scheduled our engagement photoshoot.
All of her documents, paperwork, contracts and payment methods were online which made the hiring process crystal clear. We knew exactly what we had signed up for, what to expect, and she even sent guidelines and photo inspiration for what to wear for our engagement photoshoot.
Upon meeting Jodee in person my husband and I were thrilled to have found her. She went above and beyond making us feel relaxed and natural during our first day together (which is no easy thing to do). Being in front of a camera is a really odd experience - but Jodee made it feel like we had both been modeling our entire lives...
Jodee is creative, professional, kind, funny, well spoken, energetic - and a very intuitive/unique photographer. Her eye for artistic angles/light/backgrounds is something that cannot be taught. After the engagement shoot she was prompt in editing and sending us our images - and we could not wait for the wedding day because we both knew we were in the best hands.
Jodee helped make my husband and I both feel at ease on our big day when she chose a knowledgable second shooter to follow the boys and met with me and the bride tribe day of. She caught intimate moments without intruding, had my dad laughing and our families both complimenting what a light she was the entire day. The wedding day is such a whirlwind experience, Jodee was our rock. We have memories to cherish for our lifetime thanks to her.
It is difficult to put into words how special she is. I would recommend Jodee all day everyday - and can confidently say that had Jodee not been our photographer our day would not have been as magical as it was. She is natural friend, intelligent artist and brilliant human. Everyone should be so lucky to have Jodee photograph their wedding! This was a vendor that was extremely important to me because my fiance and I knew videography was not in our budget.
I wanted to be sure we had a photographer that was lively and energetic, but could also capture us authentically. Jodee was the first person we met with, and her personality was exactly what I was looking for. I had several meetings with other potential photographers, but it was really love at first sight with Jodee.
She built the perfect package for our needs, and even convinced my fiance that an engagement shoot would be beneficial. We were scared of feeling like the photos seem forced and awkward, but she reassured us and in the end we LOVED the results!
On the day of our wedding I felt much more comfortable taking photos for 10 hours, and we learned which poses worked best for us as a couple. Jodee kept in contact with us throughout the planning process, and we met to go over all the complicated family details (and there were a lot) in advance.

One of my absolute favorite moments of my wedding day is when Jodee took my new husband and I out into the farm of our wedding venue while guests were enjoying cocktails, and encouraged us to just take it all in. Of course she was snapping away to capture a gorgeous sunset, but it really felt like he and I could share the moment in peace.
I feel grateful to have such beautiful photos to relive our wedding over and over, thanks to Jodee's talent. I look forward to hiring her for any other occasions we can!

JODEE IS THE BEST! From start to finish Jodee was professional, classy, and super friendly. Having come highly recommended from a friend, we hired her for our engagement shoot and she far exceeded any expectations that we had (and we are picky people).
PRIOR TO SHOOT: We met over lattes and discussed with Jodee the overall look and feel that we wanted to portray through our photos. She took us through her portfolio, discussed locations we could shoot at, and gave us advice for the day of the shoot (what to wear, what NOT to wear, where to go, etc) that really calmed our nerves.
DAY BEFORE SHOOT: Jodee sent us a drop-pin location with instructions on where to meet. This was super helpful as we were venturing into no-cell service territory.
DAY OF SHOOT: She was prepared. With her positive and upbeat energy she guided us effortlessly through the day. I was afraid we would run out of poses or not know what we are doing but her creative eye and instruction ensured that never happened. She made my Fiancé and I feel comfortable and confident. I CANNOT express how important this is when you're looking for a photographer.
AFTER SHOOT: The anticipation of viewing our photos after such an exciting day didn't have to last long because Jodee provided us with a "sneak peek" on our social channels. Shortly after she followed with all of our edited photos. Let me tell you, we were SPEECHLESS. The photos are breathtaking, my mom cried when she saw them. Yes, that good. We will certainly cherish them forever.
After such an amazing experience, we can't wait for Jodee to shoot our destination wedding in Dominican Republic

Jodee was the best possible wedding photographer my wife and I could have hoped for. She was fantastic and attentive throughout the entire process. Every photo she took was stunning. She was so positive the whole time, and knew how to get a great photo out of us, and everyone in our wedding party. She made us comfortable, and made sure that we were having a good time.
The other wedding photographers I've seen verge on the cheesy entirely too much and don't do a great job at making sure things are running smoothly. Jodee couldn't have been further from this. She did not waste time taking hundreds of shots of the same pose. She was always ready, got great pictures, and moved us on to the next thing. She was also just extremely kind. Truly, a joy to be around.
Prior to the day, she took the time to walk through the venue with us during the exact time the wedding would be so as to get an idea for what the lighting would be in certain spots and make sure she knew where the best places for pictures would be. A real and proper pro. I could go on and on about what an incredible experience it was.
Jodee is the best! If you hire her she will make you happy. We couldn't possibly recommend her more.

"Never before has a photographer been such a life saver."
Never before has a photographer been such a life saver. Jodee Debes was the perfect picture of calm when we found out we were evacuating our wedding venue 30 minutes pre-ceremony for a fire.
She jumped into action and captured our first look by the tree where we were supposed to get married. She decided on the new ceremony site at the new venue and she captured the emotions of the day beautifully and tastefully.
Most importantly, she wasn't an invasive photographer she didn't have us pose but rather caught us in our natural moments. I highly recommend Jodee, she is worth every penny. Not only is she offer amazing communication her pictures are gorgeous, light and airy!

Jodee was recommended to me by a friend who knew her personally and chose her to photograph her own wedding. Jodee was the first decision I made in my wedding planning journey (it was a no brainer after seeing her beautiful work and instantly loving her personality when we chatted over FaceTime), and she became patient zero for my whole vendor team. She recommended my incredible planner Christine Garrison and gave me so many other great tips along the way.
My (now) husband and I ended up using Jodee for our engagement shoot in New York and our wedding in the SF Bay Area.
Jodee brought so much creativity and positive energy to both experiences, she was an absolute joy to work with and generally to be around. Her photography style is very natural so she’ll come up with infinite creative ways to make sure you are comfortable and she is capturing genuine moments. She will read your chemistry and style and feed you prompts to ensure that the intimacy and happiness reflected in the photos is organic, spontaneous, and real.
She’s also efficient and intuitive. She’ll do her homework to make sure she’s checking off all the must have boxes for your event but she’ll also pull you and your partner away when she senses you’re overwhelmed or might want a moment just the two of you.
More than anything, Jodee is just fun to be around. My husband and I found ourselves disappointed when it was time for her to leave, not because we needed more photos, but because she’s just good company and brings great energy to the party.
I cannot recommend Jodee enough. She is so great and our photos (which we already had just 2 days later!) are GORGEOUS.
